A mashup of two things I like, Star Fox and Regular Show, and there you have it! Regular Fox. I had a lot of fun making this!
I have always loved drawing people, and I try to vary my style while doing so.
A drawing I did using only a cheap ballpoint pen. I mostly abandoned it after finding out that it didn’t mix well with promarkers. I still use it from time to time if I know that I’m not going to use colour.
I mentioned in my last post that the way I render faces has changed slightly from the way I did it before. Here’s a portrait I did of my cousin some time back. She’s really nice and I should call her more often! The textures and especially the shadows are darker here, and large areas are left in white, leaving little to no room for highlights. It’s not bad, though, I just have to experiment until I find a method that suits me :)
I’m practising rendering somewhat realistic faces. I’ve done a lot of portrait work before, but have just recently started getting into this kind of rendering. I now use 4H, HB and 9B pencils, whereas earlier I mostly used darker pencils and left wide areas in the white. So far, I this is working out pretty good for me :)
I’ve been hard at work drawing page up and page down with design sketches for a personal project that I might or might not finish anytime soon. I really enjoy doing these, and this story and these characters have grown to become kind of my baby project. If I ever reach my goal of becoming an animator, I’ll try making this an animated short, but for now, I think that I’ll stick to the comic format… :)
